About

Hi, I’m Yann.

I’m not a company, not a studio, not a marketing team. I’m one person. An IT guy working in support, a dark fantasy author in my spare hours, and a self-taught tinkerer who had the odd idea of coding his own writing software.

That software is Le Grimoire.

Why Le Grimoire exists

It all started with a very personal problem. I’m writing a novel. A big one. A three-thousand-year universe, dozens of characters, several narrative voices, a sprawling mythology. And at some point, I drowned. Notes everywhere, no overview, the constant fear of losing the thread.

I went looking for a tool to pull me out of it. I found nothing that really suited me: too complicated, too expensive, too dependent on the cloud, or with an AI that wanted to write in my place. So I did what stubborn people do: I built it myself.

Le Grimoire was born from that need. A tool to organize a novel without drowning, with an AI that assists the author without ever writing in their place, that runs locally on your machine, and that respects your voice, your data, and your wallet all at once.

What I believe in

A few convictions guide everything I do:

Writing shouldn’t be expensive. Writing is an art open to everyone. I refuse to turn it into a luxury.

The AI assists, it doesn’t replace. Your voice belongs to you. Le Grimoire’s AI organizes, sorts, and connects, but it never writes your prose for you.

Your data is yours. Everything stays local, on your machine. You can even plug in your own AI model if you feel like it.

We move forward together. I don’t want customers, I want traveling companions. A bug, an idea, a remark? I genuinely listen, and the software grows thanks to you.

The full story

If you’re curious how you get from an overflowing novel to a full-blown piece of software — by way of a heatwave with no AC, gallons of coffee, and a name found in front of an episode of Grimm — I’ve told the whole adventure, unfiltered, in a series of articles.

One last word

Le Grimoire is a young piece of software, one that evolves with its users. It isn’t perfect, and I won’t pretend otherwise. But it’s made with heart, and with one obsession: respecting authors.

So if you write, if you dream of worlds to build, if you’re looking for a tool that leaves you alone and lets you create… welcome. We’ve got things to build together.
