Locations
Cities, districts, buildings, rooms — with location / sub-location hierarchy.
What it's for
The Locations page centralises all location cards: cities, districts, buildings, rooms, landscapes… Each location has its own fields (atmosphere, description, image, notes) and can be attached to a parent location to form a tree.
You can view, edit, and print your cards, and navigate from a location to its sub-locations without leaving the modal.
Step-by-step guide
Create a location
1
Open the Locations page, click + New location.
2
Fill in the Name field (required) and, if desired, a Type (District, Building, Forest… or custom).
3
Click Save.
Attach to a parent location
1
In Basic information, Parent location field: select the parent (a
↳ flags locations that already have a parent).2
For a root location, choose the empty option at the top of the list, then save.
Avoid cycles (A → parent B → parent A): the form excludes the location itself but not its sub-locations.
Navigate between sub-locations
1
Click a card (gallery) to open the card.
2
At the bottom of the modal, the Sub-locations section lists the direct children; click one to load its card in the same modal.
No breadcrumb or back-to-parent link: close with the cross and return to the list if needed.
Notes, view, search
1
Notes: at the very bottom of the form; saved but not displayed in the view card (re-read in edit mode).
2
View: gallery (tarot cards) or list (indented tree). Not remembered between sessions.
3
Search: name, description, atmosphere. Type: filter by category (coloured button when active).
Delete and print
1
Single: hover → trash → confirmation. Bulk: Print → check → Delete (N).
Deleting a parent does not delete its sub-locations: they become root locations. Deletion is immediate and permanent.
2
Print: check the locations, choose a style (parchment, gothic, minimal), launch the print.
Tips
◆
Name your types consistently: the filter and suggestions are based on types already used.
◆
Organise from general to specific: city, then district (parent = city), then street (parent = district).
◆
The AI Oracle creates locations automatically, but without hierarchy: attach them manually.
◆
The image appears as a square thumbnail on the card and as a panoramic banner in the modal: choose accordingly.
