Media Library

Images, videos, audio, and documents attached to the project.

Official Le Grimoire documentation.
What it's for

The media library lets you import and keep all useful files: reference images, audio, ambient videos, PDFs, text notes… Each file is copied into the project folder, so it is available offline.

You can then link a file to any entity — scene, character, location, event, or note — to find your resources where they are needed.

Step-by-step guide

Open and import

1
Click the Paperclip icon in the vertical bar; the panel opens on the right.
2
Add files button: drag and drop into the zone or click to browse. Add a description per file, then Send (progress bar).
Formats: images (JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP, SVG, BMP), videos (MP4, WebM, AVI, MOV, MKV), audio (MP3, WAV, OGG, M4A, FLAC), documents (PDF, TXT, DOC, DOCX, ODT, RTF), and others.

Search and filter

1
Search field: instant filter on name, description, and tags.
2
Type filters: Images, Videos, Audio, Documents, Other (count shown per button). ✕ All cancels the filter.

Preview a file

1
Click the thumbnail or the name: the viewer opens as an overlay.
2
Depending on type: zoom/pan/full screen (image), video/audio player, PDF reader, text/markdown display, or download (Word/ODT/RTF/other).
3
Close with the cross or Escape.

Describe, tag, link

1
In the viewer, Description: field saved on focus loss. Tags: comma-separated (used in search).
2
Links to entities section → + Add a link → choose Scene / Character / Location / Event / Note, search, click to link.
3
Hover over a link badge and click × to remove it (confirmation).

Download and delete

1
Download (down arrow) in the viewer toolbar.
2
Trash: deletes the file and all its links (confirmation required).
Tips
◆
The media library is shared across the entire project: a file can be linked to multiple scenes, characters, etc.
◆
Fill in the description at import time: the search covers name, description, and tags.
◆
Files are copied at import: deleting or moving the original does not lose the resource.
◆
The counter at the bottom reflects files shown after filtering, not the total.
