Characters
Full cards: identity, appearance, psychology, voice, biography.
What it's for
The Characters page is the logbook for all characters in the project. Each character has a full card (identity, appearance, psychology, speech style, biography, notes) that you can view, edit, and print.
The list updates automatically when the AI Oracle creates characters from the editor.
Step-by-step guide
Create a character
1
Click + New character in the top right.
2
Fill in at least the Name field (required), complete the other sections, then Save.
The "Speech style" fields are not included in the very first save: save, reopen the card in edit mode, then confirm.
Fill in the card
1
Click the pencil (hover over the card) or open the card then Edit.
2
Six sections: Basic information, Physical appearance, Psychology, Speech style, Biography, Notes.
3
Photo: drag an image or click to browse (10 MB max). The Race field suggests races already used in the project.
4
Click Save to confirm.
View a card
1
Gallery: click a card. List: click a row.
2
The card shows portrait (or initials), status, race, age, faction, traits, biography, motivations, notes, and attachments.
3
From the modal: Edit to modify, ✕ or Escape to close.
Search and filter
1
Search field: real-time filter on name, nicknames, and biography.
2
Filter button: Race, Faction, Vital status (Alive, Dead, Missing, Undead, Unknown). Multiple filters can be combined.
3
Reset filters clears the filters (not the text search, which must be cleared manually).
Display and printing
1
View toggle: gallery (tarot cards) or list (table). The mode is not remembered between sessions.
2
Print (printer icon) activates selection mode: check the cards, choose a style (Parchment, Gothic, Minimal), then Generate PDF.
3
In selection mode, Delete (N) also allows bulk deletion (irreversible, confirmation required).
Delete a character
1
Single: hover over the card → trash icon → confirmation.
2
Bulk: selection mode → check → Delete (N).
Permanent deletion: appearances, relationships, AI knowledge, and presences in events are also removed.
Tips
◆
The AI Oracle can generate characters automatically from the editor; they appear without any action on your part.
◆
The list is always sorted alphabetically by name.
◆
Attach files via the view card (grid at the bottom of the modal).
◆
Traits entered appear as badges on the card; keep each trait to a few words.
◆
The Race field remembers project values and offers them as suggestions.
